Black Perigord is a rural area in the south east of the "department" of Dordogne, between the plains of Aquitaine and the foothills of the Massif Central. It is a vast, wooded plateau cut through by several river valleys, notably the Dordogne and the Vézère. The two main towns in the area are Sarlat and Terrasson, easily accessible from the A20 and A89 motorways and the airports at Bergerac and Limoges. The opening of the airport of Brive-Cressensac or "Brive-Dordogne Valley" widely improves the international traffic to the Dordogne, especially for low-cost airlines and links to Great Britain.
